Work with the Moon's power.

Time your spells and rituals with the phases of the moon.

Each phase of the Moon exerts a powerful influence on our planet, nature that surrounds us and our body and mind.  Practicing Moon magic means aligning your natural rhythms to the phases of the Moon.

See the links below for free downloadable at-a-glance Moon Phase Calendar and Lunar Phases and Events information Chart.

New Moon

The New Moon is an active phase.  The beginning of the moon cycle is a time of renewal and spontaneity.  The New Moon can be seen as a thin sliver as the moon waxes back into view from Dark Moon. Many consider New Moon and Dark Moon to be the same phase.  Energetically, they are very different, however.  Use the energy of the New Moon to reflect on personal goals, set intentions and make plans for a new project.

Waxing Crescent

The Moon’s light increases on the right side as it waxes.  Draw upon the Moon’s growing energy to focus and prepare.  This phase presents great opportunities for change.  Set your intentions now.  Cultivate positivity and faith.  If beginning a new project, this is the information-gathering phase and a favorable time to implement initial plans.  The waxing moon is optimal time for invoking the Triple Goddess in her guise as the Maiden.

First Quarter Moon

First Quarter Moon is 50% lit on the right side.  It is a period when problems should be addressed. Don’t lose sight of your intentions.  Expect challenges.  Face obstacles head-on.  Be decisive.  All issues are clearly illuminated now allowing you to adjust your plans accordingly and take action.  During this active phase, lay the foundations of your plan and forge ahead with confidence.

Waxing Gibbous

The Waxing Gibbous Moon grows to 99.9% illuminated by the sun.  This phase is reflective.  Take time now to make adjustments to your plans and refine your goals.  Ask questions and reevaluate.  Use this phase to address areas in need of care and attention.  The energies provided by this moon phase can help to quickly manifest any changes you make.

Full Moon

A Full Moon occurs when the sun and the moon are on opposite sides of the Earth.  Fully lit by the sun, the Full Moon phase is a time of heightened emotions, peak energy, clarity and fulfillment.  In the light of the Full Moon, our achievements are unveiled.  It is a time of congratulation and celebration.  Reap the benefits of your set intentions.  The Full Moon represents the Triple Goddess in her guise as Mother.

Waning Gibbous

The Disseminating Moon is a time for reflection, gratitude, enthusiasm and sharing.  That which came to fruition with the Full Moon is ready to be disseminated during Waning Gibbous Moon.  Communicate and share resources.  Integrate all knowledge you have gained thus far and give back to others.  Share your feelings, beliefs and vision.  This phase favors transmutation, if it is transformative change you seek, embrace it with enthusiasm now.

Last (Third) Quarter

The Last (Third) Quarter is the final active phase in the cycle.  The left side of the visible moon is lit by the sun and the other side is cloaked in darkness.  As the Moon wanes,  it’s energies repel rather than attract making this the perfect phase to begin removing things from your life. Banish and reject negative influences and energies during Last Quarter. This is the time to clear emotional clutter, tie up loose ends, make amends and let go.

Waning Crescent

Also known as the Balsamic Moon, the Waning Crescent Moon phase is a restorative time and optimal for healing. Energies shift from dynamic to reflective.  Use this time to be still, recuperate and focus within. Relax and surrender  to the Universe that which you cannot control.  Let fate take its course.  The waning moon represents the Triple Goddess in her guise as Crone.

Dark Moon

During this phase, the moon conjuncts the Sun, leaving the side that faces Earth in complete darkness.  Because the Dark Moon rises and sets around the same time as the Sun, it is too close to the Sun’s glare to be visible to the unaided eye.  Dark Moon is a time of reduced energy and reflection.  It is an optimal time for soul searching and divination.  Practice self-care, cleanse, and meditate.
